Spartacus and Cassandra – February 19th

February 19, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$10

On Thursday, February 19th, the Bozeman Doc Series presents the Montana premiere of the award-winning documentary Spartacus & Cassandra.

A powerful chronicle of a little documented culture, the film follows two Roma children as they are taken in by a young trapeze artist in a circus on the outskirts of Paris. It is a haven of fragile peace for this 13- and 11-year-old brother and sister. Torn between this new destiny and a nomadic life on the streets with their parents, Spartacus and Cassandra must choose.

Shot in classic observational style, the film world premiered at the Cannes Film Festival to rave reviews.

Cinevue writes, “A real gem…the children are fascinating subjects…[shot] with an impressionistic verité style that is at once both lyrical and stark.”

Doors open at 6:30pm. Tickets are available at Cactus Records, Movie Lovers, at the door and online at bozemandocseries.org. The series will continue through April with a new film every two weeks. For more information visit bozemandocseries.org.
