Path of the Panther – Apr. 20th

On Thursday, April 20th, at 7pm at the Emerson Center, the Bozeman Doc Series and Gallatin Valley Earth Day present the award-winning new documentary from Bozeman-based Grizzly Creek Films and director Eric Bendick, Path of the Panther.

The screening will be preceded at 6:00pm by a reception in the Emerson ballroom with food and drink, as well as Earth Day information and opportunities from event sponsors Gallatin Valley Earth Day, the Center for Large Landscape Conservation, Gallatin Valley Land Trust, Broken Ground, Cottonwood Environmental Law Center, the Gallatin Forest Partnership and others. The reception will also feature our annual Bozeman Doc Series silent auction with items from sponsors such as Red Tractor Pizza, The Lark, Reintegrative Massage, and many more.

Drawn in by the haunting specter of the Florida panther, photographer Carlton Ward and a coalition of biologists, ranchers, conservationists, and Indigenous Peoples find themselves on the front lines of an accelerating battle between forces of renewal and destruction that have pushed the Everglades to the brink of ecological collapse.

In a struggle resonating across the globe, the panther’s habitat has become an island. Its lush territory transformed into subdivisions. A paradise – vanishing into thin air.

Perched on the edge of extinction, the panther is an emblem of our once connected world. A vision of what could be again. Or else, a harbinger of what could befall our planet, if the ‘Path of the Panther’ becomes a dead end.

Director Eric Bendick will be in attendance and will take part in a Q&A after the film.

“A gripping tale of survival, Path of the Panther offers hope that we can follow our love of beauty and nature toward better stewardship of the Earth.” Mill Valley Film Festival

“Image-making has rarely felt this essential to our planet’s survival.” DOC NYC
